I've had my scooter for 3+ years now. The only maintenance I know are the basics like change engine oil every 250 kms, change gear oil every 750 kms, and change coolant by its manual gauge.
Yesterday while I was taking it for a spin, I noticed a dragging sound which appears to be from the CVT (gilid). Alarmed, I immediately contacted a friend of mine from the club. We call him boss Jared. Luckily, his shop was open on a Sunday. Sheeesh!
I went to his shop called Maui Garage which is located in Cabantian. He immediately jumped in, opened the scoot's CVT and ran some diagnoatics. The CVT needs cleaning definitely. That would reduce the dragging back to its normal state. However he told me that the belt needs to be replaced with a new one. Better to do it soon beforw anything worse could happen. And as the chief mechanic, I will follow his advice.
You can watch my YouTube video on this experience.
Safety first. Having a motorcycle or any form of vehicle comes with a cost particularly on maintenance. True as they say better be safe than sorry. While it pays to do basic maintenance, our machine needs to see a mechanic once in a while. It may cost a bit but it's fornour safety so it's a win-win I should say.
Thanks for dropping by. Ride safe y'all!
